While not an organization in its own right, the Huron Business Centre houses both the
Huron Business Development Corporation and the Huron Small Business Enterprise Centre . Each organization exists solely to serve Huron's business community.
Several other entities also call the Huron Business Centre home. While not necessarily a core function, each provides some service that will be of interest to small business. Included in this list of affiliates are: The Huron Employment Resource Centre , the Self-Employment Benefits Program , the Huron County Planning and Development Department and Huron County Ontario Works.
While individual services to clients will vary depending upon need, HBC offers the following to everyone who visits the Centre:
A well-stocked business library containing statistics, business management information, directories, self-help material in book and video format, and referral sources for even more specialized assistance.
Periodic seminars, workshops and presentations on various topics including business planning, marketing, and human resources to name a few.
A computer room with workstations, business planning software and free Internet access for research and knowledgeable staff to assist you.
One-to-one business management consulting services exist to help owners navigate their respective businesses successfully. Whether the need is for start-up assistance or business management in general, there is someone available to help.
Business loans for new and existing businesses, the Self Employment Benefit Program (new businesses only), and assistance in accessing wage subsidy programs bring essential financial support to small businesses.
