Hosted annually by the Huron Small Business Enterprise Centre in partnership with the Huron Chamber of Commerce, Bridges to Better Business is an interactive approach to addressing the various issues and challenges that small business owners experience on a daily basis. This year's event featured keynote speaker Rob Bundy of the youth-based, Above The Falls Challenge Course, discussing the need for small business enterprises to 'leave their comfort zones' and conduct business in an entirely new, and creative manner.
The keynote address was followed by an opportunity for the entrepreneurs attending the Bridges event to participate in 4 (out of 7) discussion groups lead by experts in the fields of: business law, banking, marketing, social networking, accounting, e-commerce, and disaster recovery.
The above events were held in the context of a small business trade show that was organized in an effort to: 1) Help the attendees develop new alliances with other small business owners to the mutual benefit of each partner in the hope of achieving economies of scale to help broaden market exposure; 2) Uncover new, local services and products that might offer improved supply chain efficiencies to help boost profits through lower costs and increased customer responsiveness.
